On Monday, a fairly strong earthquake hit northwest Turkey, making folks head outside in fear. Luckily, no one got hurt or buildings damaged right away.
The earthquake, measuring 5.1 on the scale, happened in the Sea of Marmara near Gemlik town in Bursa province, as per the AFAD disaster agency. It happened at 10:42 a.m. local time (07:42 GMT) and was about 9 kilometers deep.
