Leaks have been haunting Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 for years some huge, some small but after the apparent full trailer surfaced online late today, they’ve promptly released the complete GTA 6 trailer now rather than sticking to their original plan for a 9 AM launch tomorrow.
Here it is, in all its glory, and it’s way more intricate than the initial GTA 5 trailer, showcasing a vast scope, especially in its character technology. We’re introduced to Lucia, starting in prison, beginning what seems to be her Bonnie and Clyde-like tale with Jason, the long-rumored protagonists. But from this trailer alone, if I didn’t know about the two protagonists in GTA 6, I’d assume she’s the sole lead. Are there really two?
Yes, it’s officially titled GTA 6, finally confirmed in this momentous trailer.
The return to Vice City and its surroundings differs immensely from Tommy Vercetti’s era. Judging by the cars, it feels distinctly contemporary. The trailer teems with what we could call “Florida antics,” merging the wildness of GTA with the region’s inherent quirkiness. Think yacht parties, gators invading stores, and unexpectedly more twerking than anticipated in a 90-second GTA 6 trailer—probably a GTA 6 Online emote.
It’s stunning. Typically, GTA focuses on expansive landscapes, but GTA 6 captivates with its inhabitants. Not just because of their eccentricities, but the technology here, not just in lead character Lucia, looks phenomenal. This leap forward, even after the leaks, surpasses expectations and positions the game ahead of its competitors. Not that it needs the boost, obviously.
Finally, a date or rather, a year: 2025, likely in the spring if Take Two aims for release in its next fiscal year, ending in March 2025. So, that quarter seems to be the window, unless there are further delays.
This is an absolutely fantastic trailer, destined to rack up millions of views within hours and probably set industry records shortly after. Even in just 90 seconds, it feels like GTA 6 is set to exceed expectations.
